What Counts as a Catering Order?
Any order with a food subtotal over $250 is automatically classified as a catering request. When you reach that threshold at checkout, you'll see a "Request a Catering Quote" prompt instead of a standard checkout button.
This threshold exists because large orders require advance coordination — we want to make sure we can smoke enough food to serve you properly.
How to Request a Catering Quote
- Build your order on unclebbq.com as normal — add items to your cart until it reflects what you need
- When your subtotal exceeds $250, click "Request a Catering Quote"
- Fill out the request form — include your event date, headcount, and any notes
- We'll reach out within 1–2 business days to confirm details, pricing, and logistics
What We Offer
We can accommodate most events with advance notice. Typical catering setups include:
- Bulk protein orders — brisket, pulled pork, ribs, and chicken by the pound
- Full spreads — proteins + sides + bread for a complete meal
- Drop-off catering — we deliver, you serve
- Setup catering — we set up a full serving station at your venue (availability varies)
What We Need from You
- Event date and time — the earlier you contact us, the better
- Headcount — so we know how much to smoke
- Dietary needs — let us know about allergies or dietary restrictions ahead of time
- Delivery or pickup — we can deliver to most locations in the Joliet area; larger events may require pickup
Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance should I book? For events under 50 people, at least 3–5 days notice is appreciated. For events over 50 people, 1–2 weeks is ideal. Holiday weekends book up quickly — contact us as early as possible.
Is there a minimum order size for catering? Yes — catering requests start at $250 in food. For very large events, we'll provide a custom quote.
Do you handle setup and breakdown? Drop-off catering is our standard offering. Setup and staffed service is available for select events — let us know what you need when you reach out.
Can I earn Pitmaster Rewards points on a catering order? Points are not automatically applied to catering quotes. Contact us and we can add points to your account manually once the order is confirmed.
