Allergens & Dietary Information

Allergens & Dietary Information

We want every customer to make informed choices about what they eat. Here's what you should know about allergens and dietary options at Uncle J's Dirty Apron BBQ.

Important Notice

Our kitchen is a shared cooking environment. We smoke, prep, and serve a wide variety of foods in the same space. While we take care with preparation, we cannot guarantee that any item is completely free from cross-contact with allergens, including common ones such as gluten, dairy, nuts, soy, and shellfish.

If you have a severe allergy, please contact us directly before ordering so we can discuss your specific situation.

Common Allergen Information

Gluten

Our dry rubs, marinades, and sauces may contain gluten or be processed in facilities that handle wheat products. Our BBQ sauce and some sides contain gluten.

Customers with celiac disease or severe gluten sensitivity should be aware of cross-contact risks in our kitchen.

Dairy

Some of our sides β€” including mac and cheese β€” contain dairy. Butter is used in preparation of several items.

Soy

Soy may be present in marinades and some sauces.

Eggs

Eggs are used in some of our sides and baked goods.

Tree Nuts / Peanuts

We do not intentionally use nuts in our menu, but cross-contact cannot be ruled out as we source ingredients from suppliers who may process nut products.

Dietary Options

Meat-Free Options

Uncle J's is a BBQ restaurant β€” our menu is built around smoked meats. We do offer a selection of vegetarian sides (coleslaw, corn, pit beans, mac and cheese, etc.) but we do not currently offer dedicated vegetarian or vegan protein options.

Low-Carb / Keto

Smoked proteins (brisket, pulled pork, chicken, ribs) are naturally low in carbohydrates. Our dry rubs contain a small amount of sugar. Sauce can be ordered on the side or omitted. Many sides are carb-heavy β€” coleslaw and salads are the lowest-carb side options.

Sodium

Smoked BBQ tends to be higher in sodium due to dry rubs and seasoning. If you are on a low-sodium diet, consider ordering proteins without added sauce.
